The Friday estimates are in, and 20th Century Fox’s The Simsons Movie exploded out of the gate with an estimated $29.4 million from 3,922 theaters.
Warner Bros. newcomer No Reservations, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart, debuted in the fifth spot with $4 million in 2,425 theaters.
The other two new films didn’t fare too well. Lindsay Lohan thriller I Know Who Killed Me made just $1.3 million from 1,320 sites, while comedy Who’s Your Caddy? collected only $942,000 from 1,019 theaters.
