More saucy bed-hopping females from outer spaces are coming your way via Species: Quattro, the fourth installment in MGM’s otherworldly franchise that began with Species (starring Natasha Henstridge and Ben Kingsley) in 1995. We discovered a trailer for the latest sequel, presumably heading direct-to-DVD, that appeared on the website of cinematographer Jaime Reynoso who shot the film under the direction of Nick Lyon. You can watch the trailer using the player below!
Reynoso also served as d.p. on the Robert Rodriguez-penned, Eduardo Rodriguez-directed Curandero which currently sits in limbo at Dimension.
This cleverly-titled chapter rests on the shoulders of a whole new blonde lead (Helena Mattsson) who learns she is a genetically engineered being – a cross-breed of alien and human DNA. When she starts feelin’ her oats, and gets the need to breed, her uncle (played by Ben Cross of “Dark Shadows” and Chariots of Fire fame) whisks her down to Mexico in hopes to find a cure.
No word yet on when the film will be released, but the trailer has that familiar “SCI FI Original Pictures” voiceover. Seeing as Species III made its debut on the network, it’s a fair guess to say the fourth might follow suit.
