A Minecraft Movie has brought some life back to the box office.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ A Minecraft Movie made approximately $163 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend. That’s even more than The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which made $146 million; although, it’s important to note that Mario Bros. opened on a Tuesday and its five-day domestic total was $204.6 million.
Still, A Minecraft Movie is now the biggest domestic opening of 2025 so far and, per Deadline, Warner Bros. Pictures’ third biggest domestic opening of all-time following 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169 million) and 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million).
The Jason Statham action movie A Working Man came in second, meanwhile, with $7.2 million, while Disney’s live-action Snow White remake continues to slip, making only $5.9 million during its third week of release.
