Marvel Studios has been announcing the Avengers: Doomsday cast in a slowly evolving video, and in revealed Paul Rudd’s inclusion in the movie in hilarious fashion.
Over on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, a live video has been slowly introducing the cast of Doomsday via a video feed that slowly pans over different chairs revealing an actors’ name every 10 or so minutes.
When it was time to introduce Rudd as someone in the cast, though, Marvel decided to poke some fun at his character. The camera panned over to reveal empty space, then panned down, showing that Rudd’s chair was significantly smaller than everyone else’s, a reference to his character Ant-Man, and his ability to shrink down in size.

Official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps at this time. Along with Kirby and Hemsworth, the film will star Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom/Victor von Doom. Downey Jr. previously played Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU, though that character died in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Doomsday will also see the return of MCU mainstays The Russo Brothers, with Joe and Anthony set to direct the next ensemble film. Avengers: Doomsday will be released in United States theaters on May 1, 2026, from Marvel. Avengers: Secret Wars then follows on May 7, 2027.
The film was previously named Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but has since been renamed following the firing of Jonathan Majors last year. While the plot of the film is unclear, the film will all but certainly focus on Doom, one of the most iconic and well-known villains in comic book history.
