Nicholas Hoult has been cast in a new bank heist movie that is being directed by David Leitch.
Hoult will soon be seen playing Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman, which arrives in United States theaters this coming July. He also recently played Thomas Hutter in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and led Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2.
Now, per Deadline, Hoult will star in an untitled bank heist movie that will be released in theaters.
What do we know about David Leitch’s bank heist movie with Nicholas Hoult?
The script for the movie — which comes from Amazon MGM Studios, Imagine Entertainment, and 87North — was written by Mark Bianculli. Leitch serves as a producer alongside Kelly McCormick, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum.
Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time. A release date has not yet been set.
“The project has gained a ton of momentum in recent weeks after Leitch and McCormick boarded the project at the top of the year,” Deadline’s article notes. “Once the package hit the market, it wasn’t long before Amazon moved in to land the rights and the project soon began attracting high-profile talent with Hoult recently signing on to star with the plan to shoot later this summer.”
Leitch worked on 2014’s John Wick alongside Chad Stahelski before he then went on to direct 2017’s Atomic Blonde, 2018’s Deadpool 2, 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and 2022’s Bullet Train. His most recent movie was 2024’s The Fall Guy starring Ryan Reynolds and Emily Blunt, while he’s also produced titles such as 2021’s Nobody, 2022’s Violent Night, and 2025’s Love Hurts.
In addition to the aforementioned titles, Hoult is known for playing Henry “Hank” McCoy/Beast in a number of the Fox X-Men movies and Nux in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. He’s also starred in 2013’s Warm Bodies, 2018’s The Favourite, 2022’s The Menu, and more.
