Meet the Parents 4 Finds Director for Ben Stiller & Robert De Niro Movie

Meet the Parents 4 has continued to pick up steam, with Deadline reporting that the fourth entry in the comedy franchise has found its director.

Who is directing Meet the Parents 4?

According to Deadline’s new report, John Hamburg has been tapped to direct the fourth film, and will also reportedly write the project as well. Hamburg is well-versed with the Meet the Parents world, having been a writer on all three previous films.

Hamburg also worked with Stiller a number of times prior, having directed 2004’s Along Came Polly. The filmmaker also wrote on several other Stiller projects, including both Zoolander movies.

Plot details for Meet the Parents 4 are being kept under wraps at this time. De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are producing through Tribeca Productions, while Roach serves as a producer through Delirious Media. Stiller and John Lesher will also both produce through Red Hour Films.

A release date for Meet the Parents 4 has not yet been announced.

Directed by Jay Roach, Meet the Parents is a 2000 comedy movie that starred Ben Stiller as Greg Focker, Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes, Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes, and Teri Polo as Pam Byrnes. It is a remake of the 1992 movie of the same name directed by Greg Glienna.

Meet the Parents was followed by two sequels: 2004’s Meet the Fockers and 2010’s Little Fockers. Stiller, De Niro, Danner, and Polo returned for both movies, as did Owen Wilson’s Kevin Rawley. Additionally, Meet the Fockers introduced Dustin Hoffman’s Bernie Focker and Barbra Streisand’s Roz Focker.

Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Little Fockers, meanwhile, are all available to rent or purchase on digital outlets such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and more.
