A brand new The Toxic Avenger teaser trailer is here, previewing more of the campy and gory content set to appear in the upcoming movie.
What happens in The Toxic Avenger teaser trailer?
The newest trailer kicks off with a commercial for the in-universe fast food restaurant “Miss Meat.” In it, several sexual puns around the food are shown off, before a news broadcast interrupts to discuss a hostage situation happening at the restaurant.
We’re then treated to a better look at the Toxic Avenger, who walks into the Miss Meat and confronts one of the armed men. Holding a mop, the Toxic Avenger promptly knocks half of the armed man’s jaw off, showing just how brutal the upcoming unrated movie will be.

The Toxic Avenger remake is set to release on August 29, 2025, after Cineverse announced earlier this year that it had come to an agreement with Lionsgate to release the film. Cineverse is also the entertainment company behind the distribution for the Terrifier series. Prior to the agreement, the film had been reportedly having trouble finding a distributor due to how violent the film was.
The new movie was originally filmed in 2021, with the project acting as the opening film of Fantastic Fest in 2023, before also playing at a variety of other film festivals that year. The movie serves as a reboot to the iconic 1984 film of the same name, which was directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman, and was produced by Troma Entertainment. The film would go on to become a cult classic genre film, and spawn off an entire media series based around the character.
The Toxic Avenger reboot stars Peter Dinklage, Luisa Guerreiro, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, Sarah Niles, Julia Davis, Julian Kostov, Elijah Wood, David Yow, Macon Blair, Jonny Coyne, Jane Levy, and Rebecca O’Mara.
