Jennifer Lawrence has reportedly been offered a role in Jonah Hill‘s newest movie, which the star will also direct.
What would the Jennifer Lawrence movie be about if she joins the Cut Off cast?
According to a brief note in a recent report from Variety on various movies that have been granted California production tax credits, a movie titled Cut Off is referenced. The film, which Hill is set to direct and star in for Warner Bros. Discovery, follows “two exuberantly wealthy twins who are suddenly cut off from their family’s fortune and are forced to fend for themselves.”
Variety’s report notes that reports have gone around that Lawrence has been offered up the starring role alongside Hill. There’s been no confirmation on her joining the movie, however, nor whether or not the project is close to entering production just yet.
Hill and Lawrence have worked together in the past, most recently on the 2021 movie Don’t Look Up. Lawrence’s last appearance in a movie came in 2022’s Causeway, where she starred opposite Brian Tyree Henry in the Apple TV+ drama.
Hill is currently working on a new film, Outcome, which he also directs and stars in alongside Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, and more. That film is also set to be distributed by Apple TV+, although no release information is available yet.
Prior to that, Hill’s last on-screen role came in 2021’s Don’t Look Up. Since then, the actor has mostly been producing and directing projects, and was the subject of some controversy in 2023, when the actor was accused of being emotionally abusive by ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady, and shortly after, former child actor Alexa Nikolas accused the actor of kissing her without consent while at a party at Justin Long’s house when she was 16 and he was 24.
A litigation attorney for Hill denied the claims, and a representative for Long also said that the actor had no knowledge of the incident.
