Disney’s Snow White Box Office Opening Weekend Could Be Worse Than Dumbo Remake

The upcoming Snow White live-action remake’s box office opening weekend projections are in, with many experts estimating that the film will debut to to a smaller launch than a previous Disney live-action entry.

What is Snow White’s box office opening estimated to be?

According to a new report from Deadline, pre-sale ticket numbers for Snow White sit at around $5 million as of now, which would put it just behind a film like Kung Fu Panda 4 ($57.9 million) and ahead of the Dumbo live-action remake ($45.99 million).

While the film is currently tracking ahead of movies like Dumbo, Deadline’s report notes that “many are fearing” that the film could trend toward an opening similar to that. However, the report also notes that the movie is currently tracking to land between a $45-50 million opening, with a $55 million international opening, which could propel the film to a great box office run.

Snow White will be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.

Alongside Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, Snow White also stars Andrew Burnap as Jonathan and Martin Klebba as Grumpy. Set to be directed and produced by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, the project is expected to expand the story and music from the original. La La Land and The Greatest Showman duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are also attached to write new songs for the adaptation.

“Disney’s Snow White is a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy,” reads the synopsis.

This project is part of Disney’s growing list of upcoming live-action projects, including Moana, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, and Bambi.
