Scream 7’s Scott Foley Is Also Confused Over Dead Character’s Return

Scott Foley (Felicity, Scandal) has officially opened up about his recent casting in Paramount Pictures’ Scream 7 movie. Foley is set to reprise his role as Roman Bridger, who was first introduced in Scream 3 as the Stab 3 director. Towards the end of the threequel, Roman was ultimately unmasked as Ghostface, whose real intention was to frame Sidney and kill her.

What did Scott Foley say about his Scream 7 return?

During a recent interview on Good Morning America, when asked about his involvement in Scream 7, Foley admitted that he also has no idea about what’s going to happen to his character since he’s still confused why Roman would return when he had already died in Scream 3.

“I’m willing to take a poll here and someone can explain it to me because I don’t know how it works out,” Foley said. “Yeah, my character — spoiler alert — 25 years ago, I was the killer in Scream 3. He was brutally taken to town and killed. Now I’m back in Scream 7, and I’m not sure how it’s going to work.”

Scream 7 will be led by franchise vets Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as they reprise their respective fan-favorite roles as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers. Just like Foley, David Arquette and Matthew Lillard are also returning as Dewey Riley and Stu Macher, despite their characters’ respective deaths in 2022’s Scream and 1996’s Scream. In addition, it has also been confirmed that Jasmin Savoy Brown’s Mindy Meeks-Martin and Mason Gooding’s Chad Meeks-Martin are also set to appear in the next sequel.

Franchise newcomers Isabel May (1883), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), Asa Germann (The Boys: Gen V), and Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Joel McHale (Community), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Mark Consuelos (Riverdale), Ethan Embry (Grace & Frankie), Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans), Michelle Randolph (Landman), and Jimmy Tatro (Theater Camp) have also joined the project. The seventh installment is being directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson from a screenplay written by Guy Busick. It is produced by Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt.
