Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier is a United States Congressman in a new photo from Thunderbolts*.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* opens in theaters this coming May. Directed by Jake Schreier, the MCU movie sees Sebastian Stan reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, who has now been eleted as a member of the United States Congress.

A new photo from Thunderbolts*, shared by Empire Magazine, sees Bucky being questioned by reporters as he takes on his new role in the United States government. Check out the photo, via an X post from Discussing Film, below:

Along with Stan, the cast of Thunderbolts* includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

“In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?”

Kevin Feige serves as a producer on Thunderbolts*, while Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serve as executive producers. Schreier’s past filmography includes 2012’s Robot & Frank and 2015’s Paper Towns, while he’s also worked on television shows such as Lodge 49, Dave, Beef, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more.

Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters on May 2, 2025, from Marvel Studios.
