Sony announced Thursday that Oasis will film a concert movie during their highly anticipated reunion tour. Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will produce the film.
The movie will be shot during Oasis Live ‘25, the upcoming world tour for one of the UK’s most popular bands. It marks the first time brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will perform as Oasis since their breakup in 2009. The tour begins on July 4 in Cardiff and will stop in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin on the European leg.
Oasis Live ‘25 then heads to North America for stops in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena, and Mexico City. The tour continues in London, Goyang, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney, Buenos Aires, and Santiago before the final stop in São Paulo this November.
Who is involved in the Oasis Concert Movie?
Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will direct the Oasis concert movie. The filmmaking duo’s directorial credits include Meet Me in the Bathroom, a documentary about New York’s rock scene in the 2000s; Shut Up and Play the Hits, a documentary about LCD Soundsytem; and No Distance Left to Run, a rockumentary about the British rock band Blur.
Magna Studios will produce the concert movie. The company’s production credits include Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, Gangs of London, and Beastie Boys Story. Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley are the producers of the Oasis movie, while Marisa Clifford and Kate Shepherd will executive produce. Sony Music Vision will distribute the concert film.
The Oasis movie has no release date.
2005 marks the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ second album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? The album produced some of the band’s groundbreaking hits, including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova. At 22 million copies sold worldwide, it’s Oasis’ highest-selling album.
