While James Cameron’s Avatar franchise has heavily dominated the box office ever since its inception in 2009, it seems the upcoming entry in the series, Fire and Ash, will have audiences reaching for the tissues. James Cameron reveals his wife Suzy’s emotional reaction to Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron recently disclosed that his wife, Suzy Amis Cameron, cried her heart out for four hours after watching a version of Avatar: Fire and Ash last year.
While speaking with Empire Magazine, James Cameron divulged the details, stating, “My wife watched the whole thing from end to end — she had kept herself away from it and I wasn’t showing her bits and pieces as we went along. This was December 22nd. She bawled for four hours.”
He further stated that Suzy Cameron became so overwhelmed that he was unable to extract any constructive feedback from her. “She kept trying to get her s–t back together so she could tell me specific reactions, and then she’d just tear up and start crying again. Finally, I’m like, ‘Honey, I’ve got to go to bed. Sorry, we’ll talk about it some other time,'” Cameron exclaimed.
Nevertheless, the three-time Academy Award winner showcased complete faith in his partner’s response to Avatar: Fire and Ash, noting, “She’s a pretty good bellwether. She called the ball on Titanic and Avatar and Avatar 2. So I trust her heart on it.”
At the time of writing, plot details about Avatar: Fire and Ash continue to remain under wraps. Most of the primary cast from previous installments, such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore, and more, are set to reprise their roles, with David Thewlis and Oona Chaplin joining the cast as new characters. The movie is currently on track to hit theaters on December 19, 2025.
