Taylor Russell has officially joined Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming version of The Thomas Crown Affair. According to a recent report from Deadline, Russell joins the cast after what they describe as a “lengthy” audition process, and now sees the film’s leading roles set.

The movie also received a bit of a production update, with Deadline reporting that things are set to begin later this summer in London. Current plot details for this iteration of the movie are unknown as of yet, but it will be the third time The Thomas Crown Affair has been made made into a movie.

The original film came out in 1968, and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the leading roles. A 1999 remake of the movie was also released, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

The script for this movie was written by Drew Pearce, while Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson worked on previous drafts. Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff also serve as producers, while Alan Trustman, who wrote the 1968 film, serves as an executive producer.

“An adventure of a millionaire playboy who steals a priceless work of art and then strikes up a fiery romance with the brilliant female insurance investigator who is on to his game,” a description of the 1999 movie reads.

Jordan made his feature film directorial debut in 2023 with Creed III, which he also starred in. He recently finished shooting Ryan Coogler’s new gothic horror movie, which is expected to be released in 2025 and also stars Delroy Lindo, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, and more.
