What happens in the Warfare video?

The Warfare video sees various cast members describe the intense process of filming the movie, which is set during the Iraq War. Actor Charles Melton notes they had to go through a three-week boot camp to “really form this Navy SEAL culture,” while Will Poulter says the movie is “undoubtedly be one of the most important, poignant things we’ll ever do.”

Garland says in the video, “Ray and I worked together very closely on the film Civil War. Probably about halfway through, we started talking about this film that Ray wanted to make…The entire cast and crew, including myself, felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility.”

“Written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland (Civil War, 28 Days Later), Warfare embeds embeds audiences with a platoon of American Navy SEALs in the home of an Iraqi family, overwatching the movement of US forces through insurgent territory,” the synopsis of the movie reads. “A visceral, boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare, told like never before: in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it.”

In addition to Melton and Pulter, the cast of Warfare includes D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Joseph Quinn, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Taylor John Smith, Michael Gandolfini, Adain Bradley, Noah Centineo, Evan Holtzman, and Henrique Zaga.

Warfare will be released in United States theaters on April 11, 2025, from A24.
