Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Luke Evans (Dracula Untold), and Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour) have officially signed on to join the Bear Country cast for the upcoming action thriller movie, which hails from Unhinged director Derrick Borte. Paul and Evans are set to portray the respective roles of Jeff and Joe Carver, while Zovatto will play a character named Rodriguez.

- Paul’s Jeff is an unassuming community college teacher who gets roped into a dirty cop’s robbery scheme.
- Evans’ Joe Carver is an undercover federal agent posing as a potential buyer for Kapak’s club in hopes of infiltrating the cartel he’s washing money for.
- Zovatto’s Rodriguez is the cartel’s top man in Los Angeles.
Who else is in the Bear Country cast?
The Bear Country will be led by Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator) as an ageing club owner. He will also be joined by previously announced cast members Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies). Production on the movie is currently underway in Australia.
“It follows an ageing but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe) who has been robbed by a masked gunman,” reads the official synopsis. “Now, his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his girlfriend appear more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart has been posing as the new guy in town eager to purchase the club.”
The film is being directed by Borte, who co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Forte, based on the 2010 Thomas Perry novel called Strip. It is produced by Mark Fasano for Nickel City Pictures, Jeffrey Greenstein for A Higher Standard, Deborah Glover for G2 Dispatch, and Mark Bower for Life & Soul Pictures. Executive producers are Lee Broda, Brandon Eaton, Danny Greenstein, Justin Grimm, Diana Hull, West Hull, Bruno Mustic, Jeff Rice, Michael Sirow, and Richie Walls.
