When is the Materialists release date?
The Materialists has now been scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 13, 2025, pitting the film directly against Universal Pictures’ live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie at the box office. It is also set to debut in the same month as other high-profile movies such as Lionsgate’s John Wick spin-off Ballerina, Tom Hiddleston’s Stephen King movie The Life of Chuck, Sony Pictures’ 28 Years Later sequel, and Warner Bros.’ Brad Pitt sports movie F1.
The film is written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Celine Song, who is reuniting with A24 following the critical success of her feature directorial debut movie Past Lives. The 2023 movie starring Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro earned her two Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. The upcoming movie is produced by Song, David Hinojosa for 2 AM, and Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler for Killer Films. At the moment, it is also being rumored that A24 might be planning to debut the movie at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
