A new Jennifer’s Body 2 update has been offered up by Amanda Seyfried, with one of the original co-stars revealing a film is perhaps in the works.
What did Amanda Seyfried say about Jennifer’s Body 2?
During a recent appearance at a red carpet event, Seyfried — who starred in the original film opposite Megan Fox — was talking with a group of fans, when one said that Jennifer’s Body was their favorite movie.
Seyfried thanked the fan, then said that she thinks “we’re making another one,” to which the crowd reacted happily before asking if she was confirming it. Seyfried played coy, saying she wasn’t confirming anything, and only said she “thinks” they are, before giving the group a playful wink.
Seyfried’s not-so-subtle talk of a sequel isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of the possibility of a Jennifer’s Body 2. Last year, writer Diablo Cody said that she wants to do a sequel to the movie, but just needed to find the right people to partner with in order to make it happen.
Directed by Karyn Kusama, Jennifer’s Body released in United States theaters in September 2009. While it got mixed reviews from critics and fans at the time (partially due to a botched marketing campaign), Jennifer’s Body has since become something of a cult classic respected for its feminist themes.
The movie starred Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, Amy Sedaris, Johnny Simmons, J. K. Simmons, Cynthia Stevenson, and Chris Pratt.
“When a demon takes possession of her, high-school hottie Jennifer (Megan Fox) turns a hungry eye on guys who never stood a chance with her before,” the synopsis reads. “While evil Jennifer satisfies her appetite for human flesh with the school’s male population, her nerdy friend, Needy (Amanda Seyfried), learns what’s happening and vows to put an end to the carnage.”
