James Cameron Shares Avatar: Fire and Ash Feedback, Says Generative AI Won’t Be Involved

While not many have been able to see Avatar: Fire and Ash yet, director James Cameron recently shared some feedback he got from a few select people, and as well as confirmed that generative AI will not be used in the film at all.

What feedback did Cameron reveal about Avatar: Fire and Ash?

Speaking to New Zealand’s Stuff in a recent interview, Cameron said that he recently screened Fire and Ash for “a few select people,” all of whom had nothing but rave reviews for the highly anticipated third entry in the Avatar franchise.

“I’ve shown it to a few selected people and the feedback has been it’s definitely the most emotional and maybe the best of the three so far. We’ll find out, you know, but I feel pretty good about it. And the work is exceptional from the actors. It’s pretty heart-wrenching in a good way.”

While also in New Zealand, Cameron took part in a Q&A session during an event and revealed that a title card that plays ahead of the movie will say that “no generative A.I. was used in the making of this movie,” confirming that the film won’t be helped by the technology quickly spreading across Hollywood.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is once again directed by Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The ensemble cast includes returning stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, and Joel David Moore, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Edie Falco, and more.

Cameron previously said that the upcoming sequel will explore “different cultures from those I have already shown. The fire will be represented by the ‘Ash People.’ I want to show the Na’vi from another angle because, so far, I have only shown their good sides.”

“In the early films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples,” he continued. “In Avatar 3, we will do the opposite. We will also explore new worlds, while continuing the story of the main characters. I can say that the last parts will be the best. The others were an introduction, a way to set the table before serving the meal.”
