I Know What You Did Last Summer Set Photo Teases Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Return

Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) has shared a behind-the-scenes photo for the highly anticipated I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot, teasing Jennifer Love Hewitt’s return as the iconic final girl Julie James.

In December of last year, Hewitt took to Instagram to confirm her involvement in the upcoming reboot, saying that her beloved character will be “returning.” The news about Hewitt’s return to the franchise came after she had teased how she’d like to play the character once again.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is set to arrive in theaters on July 18, 2025. Robinson directs the upcoming reboot from a screenplay she co-wrote with Sam Lansky, Jeff Howard, and Leah McKendrick

In addition to Hewitt returning as Julie James, Freddie Prinze Jr. will also return as Ray Bronson in the forthcoming slasher reboot. In a previous interview with ComingSoon, Hewiit talked about her “exciting return” to a role that she had played decades ago.

“But the idea of returning to Julie James is really exciting for me. It’s scary. I think on the personal level of being like, ‘what are people gonna think of the 45-year-old version of Julie James?’ I think ’cause I’m a woman and human, that part of it makes me a little nervous,” said the actress.

She continued, “But playing her again would be an honor. I think I feel excited to show or see what she’s been up to and how she has changed, and what she still holds onto from that infamous night on the road.”

The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot hits theaters on July 18.
