Lionsgate has announced the Mutiny release date for Jason Statham’s new action thriller movie. The actor will also serve as one of the film’s producers in addition to starring.
Directed by Plane filmmaker Jean-François Richet, the upcoming action movie also stars Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy) and Roland Møller (Atomic Blonde). It is written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis, with Marc Butan serving as the film’s producer alongside Statham.
When is the Mutiny release date for the new Jason Statham action movie?
Statham, who is no stranger to the action thriller genre, is set to embark on a new action movie set to be released on January 9, 2026. According to Deadline’s report, the upcoming film will see the actor starring as Cole Reed, a man who is on the run after he’s been set up for the murder of his billionaire boss.
The film’s description (courtesy of Deadline) reads, “The film follows Cole Reed (Statham), who after seeing his billionaire industrialist boss murdered in front of him, is set up to take the fall for the crime — leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy.”
Additional details about Mutiny have yet to be unveiled.
Best known for leading a number of action movies in the early 2000s up to this day, Statham has made a name for himself in the genre with notable roles in The Transporter, The Italian Job, Crank, Turn It Up, Chaos, The One, The Bank Job, Revolver, Safe, Wild Card, Death Race, The Mechanic, The Meg, Wrath of Man, and The Beekeeper.
The actor is also known for starring as Lee Christmas in the The Expendables film series and as Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious franchise (Fast & Furious 6, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and Fast X).
