Heretic Max Release Date Set for Hugh Grant Movie’s Streaming Debut

Warner Bros. has officially announced the Heretic Max release date for the streaming debut of A24‘s newest horror drama, which was led by Golden Globe winner Hugh Grant (Love Actually). This comes after more than three months since the movie made its theatrical debut.

“Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

When is the Heretic Max release date?

Heretic will be available for streaming starting on Friday, March 7, exclusively on Max. It will then be followed by its broadcast debut on HBO on Saturday, March 8. Since its worldwide premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, the movie has received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 280 reviews.

The horror movie was directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who are best known for co-writing the screenplay of 2018’s A Quiet Place movie with John Krasinski. The cast also featured Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) as Sister Barnes, Topher Grace (That ’70s Show) as Elder Kennedy, Chloe East (The Fabelmans) as Sister Paxton, and Elle Young as Prophet. It was produced by Woods, Beck, Jeanette Volturno, Stacey Shrer, Julia Glausi, Kai Raka, and Liliane Bedford, with Katie Aquino serving as an associate producer. The creative team also included director of photography Chung-hoon Chung and editor Justin Li.
