Naomi Ackie (I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Blink Twice), Bill Nighy (Love Actually, The First Omen), Daniel Mays (The Bank Job), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (The Capture) have been tapped to join the upcoming, untitled Jason Statham action movie, which enters production sometime this week in the UK and Ireland. The project hails from the independent movie studio Black Bear (Longlegs, Conclave).
Who is involved in the untitled Jason Statham action movie?
The untitled action film will be directed by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay written by Ward Parry, with revisions by Parry and Christian Contreras. Further details about its plot and characters are still under wraps, but Statham will reportedly play a man pulled back towards the ghosts of his violent past. In addition to leading the cast, Statham is also producing for Punch Palace Productions, along with John Friedberg for Black Bear, Brendon Boyea (Kandahar) for Cinemachine, and Jon Berg and Greg Silverman for Stampede Ventures. It is executive produced by Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler for Black Bear.
Waugh is best known for his frequent collaborations with Gerard Butler on action thrillers like Angel Has Fallen, Greenland, and Kandahar. He has just recently wrapped production on the upcoming disaster sequel Greenland: Migration, with Butler also set to return. Meanwhile, Statham’s most recent movie was David Ayer’s 2024 The Beekeeper. Besides the untitled movie, he will next be seen in Ayer’s action thriller A Working Man with Michael Pena and David Harbour, and the action thriller Mutiny with Annabelle Wallis.
