Academy Award-nominee Guy Pearce has joined the cast of Blurred, an upcoming erotic thriller written and directed by Waiting for Anya filmmaker Ben Cookson.
The announcement comes after Pearce’s Oscar and BAFTA nominations for his performance in A24’s epic period drama The Brutalist. He is best known for his roles in the Academy Award-winning action thriller The Hurt Locker, Marvel’s Iron Man 3, L.A. Confidential, Mary Queen of Scots, Ridley Scot’s Prometheus, and Christopher Nolan’s psychological thriller Memento.
Who else stars in Blurred?
Pearce will be joining Alex Pettyfer in Blurred alongside María Pedraza and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. The forthcoming film is produced by Dark Dreams Entertainment’s Pettyfer and James Ireland and Film Forage’s Yariv Lerner. It is executive produced by Cloud9 Studios’ Pia Patatian. The film already completed production last summer in the United Kingdom.
The plot details for Blurred have yet to be unveiled. However, according to Patatian, the film — which she described as a “smart and sexy thriller with a brilliant cast” — is “set against the hustle and flow of New York’s fashion world.”
“Blurred has been an incredible journey — one that has taken years of work, creativity, and passion. Collaborating with such exceptional talent, both in front of and behind the camera, has been nothing short of inspiring. This film is a testament to the power of storytelling, and we cannot wait to finally share it with the world,” Ireland and Pettyfer added.
Pettyfer recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, with starring roles in Magic Mike, 5lbs of Pressure, and Chief of Station. He can next be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy Under the Stars, opposite Toni Collette and Andy Garcia.
Pedraza, on the other hand, is a Spanish actress best known for her appearances in Money Heist and Elite, while Akinnuoye-Agbaje starred in Suicide Squad, His Dark Material, Trumbo, Thor: The Dark World, and The Union.
