Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Marvel’s Runaways alum Virginia Gardner have officially signed on to lead the upcoming romantic comedy movie titled, F*ck Valentine’s Day. Tomei and Gardner are set to portray a mother-and-daughter duo, who will go on a birthday getaway in Greece. The supporting cast members will soon be revealed, as casting is still reportedly being finalized.
What is F**k Valentine’s Day about?
“The film follows Gina, born on the most celebrated day of love, Valentine’s Day, which she detests immensely. She is determined to stop her boyfriend from popping the question on a birthday getaway in Greece, home of her vivacious mother,” reads the official synopsis. “Enlisting fellow vacationers, the handsome Johnny Giovinazzo and his brassy sister Mickey, Gina hopes to delay the proposal, leading Gina to discover that she just might be with the wrong guy.”
F**k Valentine’s Day will be directed by Mark Gantt from a screenplay written by Steve Bencich. The film is produced by Nancy Leopardi for Indy Entertainment, and John Ierardi and Bo Youngblood for Showdown Productions, with Danielle Gasher, Arlie Day, and Mike Page serving as executive producers. Meanwhile, Gravitas Ventures is handling the international distribution for the movie. Production is expected to begin in Malta sometime next month.
