The first look photos for Hurry Up Tomorrow have been unveiled. Based on The Weeknd’s sixth studio album of the same name, the images feature Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn).
Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, stars in the upcoming psychological thriller as himself. It is directed and co-written by Trey Edwards Shults (It Comes at Night) and is set to arrive on May 16, 2025.
The Weeknd, who made his acting debut in The Idol, served as one of the film’s writers alongside Shults and The Idol co-creator Reza Fahim.

What is Hurry Up Tomorrow about?
Nothing much has been revealed yet about Hurry Up Tomorrow at this time. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the director stated that the forthcoming feature is about an artist who’s “on the verge of a mental breakdown.”
“He meets this woman, and they go on this odyssey together. It’s a mix of psychological thriller and drama. I honestly feel like I’ve never seen a movie quite like it,” said Shults.
The Weeknd added, “This experience was really introspective and cathartic for me. From writing to production and through post — I realized just how much of a catalyst this art form can be for conversations about our emotions, mental health, and vulnerabilities.”
The Weeknd’s acting credits also include Uncut Gems, while Jenna Ortega is best known for her starring roles in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Fallout, X, the Scream franchise, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, and Yes Day, among others.
Keoghan starred in The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, The Banshees Of Inisherin, The Green Knight, The Shadow Of Violence, Dunkirk, American Animals, and more.
Hurry Up Tomorrow hails from Lionsgate. It is set to hit theaters on May 16.
