Scream 7 Cast Adds Returning Actor Who Died in Scream 3

Scott Foley has joined the cast of Scream 7.

Kevin Williamson is directing the seventh movie in the Scream franchise. Neve Campbell is reprising her role as Sidney Prescott, while Courteney Cox is also returning as Gale Weathers.

Per Deadline, Foley has now joined the cast of the movie.

Foley notably played Roman Bridger in 2000’s Scream 3, which was directed by Wes Craven. In that film, Roman is Sidney’s half-brother who is eventually revealed to be the Ghostface killer. He’s then killed by David Arquette’s Dewey, thus leaving it unclear if Foley is playing Roman in Scream 7 or if he’s been cast as a new character entirely.

“Roman has faked his own death before so it’s plausible that he could reprise the role in the present or perhaps in flashback form in the past if he is deceased,” Deadline’s article notes. “Could Roman have a long-lost twin? This is Scream after all, so if he returns as a ghost(face killer?) or a zombie, it would not shock most.”

It’s also possible that, should Foley be playing Roman again, the character is only seen in flashbacks.

Foley’s filmography also includes 2001’s Stealing Time, 2002’s Below, and 2017’s Naked, among other titles, while he’s appeared in television shows such as Dawson’s Creek, Felicity, Scrubs, The Unit, Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, Scandal, Whiskey Cavalier, The Big Leap, and The Girls on the Bus.

What else do we know about Scream 7?

Along with Foley, Campbell, and Weathers, Scream 7 is bringing back Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin. The cast further includes Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and Mark Consuelos.

Plot details for Scream 7 remain under wraps at this time.

The script for the seventh Scream movie comes from Guy Busick. James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein are producing the film.

Scream 7 will be released in United States theaters on February 27, 2026.
