Scream 7 Cast Adds Mark Consuelos to Star-Filled Ensemble

The Scream 7 cast continues to grow by the day, with Deadline reporting that Mark Consuelos has officially joined the upcoming horror franchise’s latest entry.

Consuelos is best known as the co-host of the hit ABC talk show Live with Kelly & Mark alongside his wife Kelly Ripa. His role in the upcoming movie is unknown as of now, with Deadline reporting that his part is being kept under wraps for now.

Outside of his job as a talk show host, the Emmy-winning Consuelos has also appeared in a variety of acting projects, most notably appearing in over 100 episodes of the soap opera All My Children, where he starred as Mateo Santos. Consuelos has also appeared in movies like My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Nine Lives, and All We Had. He also has a recurring voice role on the Disney Channel animated series Primos.

Who else is in the Scream 7 cast?

Information about the upcoming movie is being kept under wraps as of now, but McHale will join a cast that continues to grow. Alongside McHale and Campbell, Scream 7 will also see the return of Courteney Cox to the franchise as she reprises her role of Gale Weathers.

Mason Gooding is also set to return to the franchise as Chad Meeks-Martin, while Jasmine Savoy Brown will return to reprise her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin.

1883 star Isabela May has also signed on to the project to play the role of Sidney Prescott’s daughter. McKenna GraceAsa GermannSam RechnerCeleste O’Connor, and Anna Camp have all also joined the cast of the film. Joel McHale is also set to star in the movie as Sidney Prescott’s husband, Mark Evans.

The path to Scream 7 has been a bit of a rocky one. Earlier this year, Spyglass Media Group fired Melissa Barrera from the franchise for speaking out against the Israel and Palestine conflict. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Barrera recalled what a tough time it was in the moment.

“It’s definitely hard, because I was just in such a cloudy state of mind, but I was very fortunate,” said Barrera. “I had a lot of support from the people around me: my team and specifically my publicists — they just carried me.”

Shortly after Barrera was fired, Jenna Ortega also reportedly dropped out of Scream 7 before Christopher Landon announced he’d no longer be directing the film in December 2023. As a result, the upcoming project will be directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the original Scream and its sequel.
