DreamWorks Animation has shared a new teaser for The Bad Guys: Little Lies and Alibis, a new short film featuring the cast of the 2022 film that will play before showings of the upcoming animated movie Dog Man.

The upcoming short film is attached to screenings of Dog Man, which premieres in theaters on January 31, 2025. It’s unclear when the short film will be released on its own after that, however, so fans who want to check it out will have to pick up a ticket for Dog Man.
The teaser for the upcoming short film sees the group of thieves once again getting into some sort of chaotic situation, ending with the group getting stuck inside of a truck transporting a bunch of chickens.

Originally released in 2022, The Bad Guys is a movie based on the children’s book series of the same name by Aaron Blabey. The film features a group of criminals made up of anthropomorphic animals, including a wolf, snake, shark, spider, and piranha. The film starred Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Richard Ayoade, Zazie Beetz, Alex Borstein, and Lilly Singh.
A sequel to the film, titled The Bad Guys 2, was officially announced in 2024, and is set to release on August 1, 2025. That film will see the return of the main cast, along with newcomers Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, Maria Bakalova, and Jorge R. Gutierrez. The Bad Guys 2 is directed by Pierre Perifel, while JP Sans also serves as a co-director. Damon Ross returns to produce the film, while Daniel Pemberton serves as the composer.
