When is the Waitress: The Musical Max streaming release date?
Waitress: The Musical arrives on Max on February 14, 2025, and will bring the Tony-nominated Broadway hit to the big screen. The play features the Broadway debut of Tony-winning singer, songwriter, and actress Sara Bareilles in the lead role, and is based on the 2007 film, which starred Keri Russell as a young woman trapped in a small town and an abusive marriage.
Waitress: The Musical features music and lyrics written by Bareilles. The play had its Broadway premiere in 2015, and has gone on to be extremely successful, and was nominated for four Tony Awards in 2016, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

“Featuring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles as Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage,’ reads the film’s official synopsis. “When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose and the beauty of a well-baked pie.”
