Oscars Best International Film Contender Armand Gets Trailer Ahead of US Release

IFC Films has shared the official Armand trailer for the upcoming U.S. debut of the acclaimed thriller drama, starring Cannes Award winner Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World). The film had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it won the the Caméra d’Or, for Best First Feature Film. Norway has also selected the movie as its official entry for Best International Festure Film at the 2025 Academy Awards.

When is the Armand U.S. release date?

Armand is scheduled to arrive in select U.S. theaters starting on February 7, followed by a wide release on February 14. Besides Reinsve, the cast also includes Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Thea Lambrechts Vaulen, Endre Hellestveit, Øystein Røger, and Vera Veljovic. The film currently holds a 72% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 29 reviews.

“When defamed actress Elisabeth (Reinsve) is abruptly called into a parent-teacher meeting after hours, she is presented with scathing allegations that trigger a tangled web of accusations between parents and faculty,” reads the official synopsis. “As Elisabeth struggles to uncover the truth amid the empty school rooms and dark corridors, a chaotic fight for redemption arises where desire, madness and obsession prevail.”

The film is written and directed by Norwegian filmmaker Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel. The film is produced by Sol Bondy, Fred Burle, Stina Eriksson, Alicia Hansen, Koji Nelissen, Andrea Berentsen Ottmar, and Derk-Jan Warrink, with Dyveke Bjørkly Graver and Magnus Thomassen serving as executive producers.
