Searchlight Pictures has announced the A Real Pain Hulu release date for the upcoming streaming debut of its latest comedy-drama starring Emmy winner Kieran Culkin and Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg. This comes after Culkin recently won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Benji Kaplan in the movie.
“Mismatched cousins David and Benji reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the odd couple’s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
When is the A Real Pain Hulu release date?
A Real Pain will finally be available for streaming starting on January 16 exclusive on Hulu. It will then be followed by its Blu-ray release on February 4. Since making its theatrical debut, the film has received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 212 reviews. Besides Culkin and Eisenberg, the cast also includes Will Sharpe (The White Lotus), Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Kurt Egyiawan (The Exorcist), Liza Sadovy (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street), and Daniel Oreskes (Law & Order).
The film was written and directed by Eisenberg, which serves as his second directorial project following the 2022 film When You Finish Saving the World. It was produced by Emma Stone, Dave McCary, Ali Herting, Jennifer Semler, and Ewa Puszczyńska. This marked the latest collaboration between Eisenberg and Stone, who previously worked together in the Zombieland franchise.
