3 New Fear Street Movies in Development, Says R.L. Stine

A new batch of Fear Street movies are officially on the horizon, with author R.L. Stine revealing that three new films in the series are in development.

What do we know about the new Fear Street movies?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Stine — the author behind the iconic Goosebumps series of horror fiction novels — revealed that writers are currently working on new movies, which he says he’s hopeful will be coming at some point.

“The writers are working,” Stine said. “So I’ve got my fingers crossed.”

It’s unclear whether or not the movies will be released by Netflix, who released the original Fear Street trilogy in 2021, and is also set to release the upcoming Fear Street: Prom Queen movie.

The original Fear Street movies were released in 2021, and released in a unique structure. The trilogy of films were released one week apart on Netflix, and each movie covered a different time period of the story. The films were based on the Fear Street series written by Stine, an incredibly popular series that has sold over 80 million copies as of 2010.

The first three Fear Street movies were all directed by Leigh Janiak, with Janiak, Phil Graziadei, Zak Olkewicz, and Kate Trefry all serving as co-writers across the various three movies. The trilogy starred Kiana Madeira, Olivia Scott Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr., Ashley Zukerman, Ted Sutherland, Gillian Jacobs, Sadie Sink, and more.
