The Wild Robot Peacock Release Date Set for Acclaimed Animated Movie

Universal Pictures has finally announced the Peacock release date for DreamWorks Animation’s newest sci-fi adventure movie, The Wild Robot. Since making its debut, the film has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. It currently holds near-perfect scores on both Rotten Tomatoes‘ Tomatometer and Popcornmeter.

When is The Wild Robot Peacock release date?

The Wild Robot will start streaming exclusively on Peacock on January 24. The star-studded ensemble cast includes Nyong’o as Roz, Pedro Pascal as Fink, Catherine O’Hara as Pinktail, Bill Nighy as Longneck, Kit Connor as Brightbill, Stephanie Hsu as robot Vontra, Mark Hamill as Thorn, Matt Berry as Paddler, and Ving Rhames as Thunderbolt.

“The film is an epic adventure following Roz, a robot that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must adapt to the harsh surroundings,” reads the synopsis. “Gradually Roz starts building relationships with the animals on the island, including a clever fox, and becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill. THE WILD ROBOT is a powerful story about self-discovery, a thrilling examination of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.”

The animated film was directed by acclaimed animated filmmaker Chris Sanders, who’s best known for his works on iconic movies such as Croods, How to Train Your Dragon, and Lilo & Stitch. It was produced by long-time Kung Fu Panda producer Jeff Hermann. In addition to its critical success, the film also had a successful theatrical run with a worldwide gross of over $320 million at the box office. It is currently nominated for four Golden Globe Awards including Best Animated Feature Film.
