While not a whole lot is known about the upcoming Spider-Man 4, actor Andrew Garfield recently opened up about his potential involvement in it.
What did Andrew Garfield say about Spider-Man 4?
Speaking to GQ in a recent interview, Garfield was asked about his potential appearance, given the actor famously reprised his role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield said he hadn’t heard anything, but joked that after his staunch denial of his role in No Way Home, he knows no one will believe him no matter what he says.
“I’m gonna disappoint you,” Garfield said. “Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”
The actor went on to say that he’d appear in a big franchise again if the right thing popped up, saying “If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun. Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”
Spider-Man 4’s release date has been set for July 24, 2026. This would put the film’s release just two months after Avengers: Doomsday, which is also rumored to feature Tom Holland as Spider-Man in some capacity as well.

In September, Destin Daniel Cretton was in negotiations to direct Spider-Man 4, taking over for Jon Watts, who helmed the previous three Holland-led superhero entries. Cretton is best known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Cretton was tapped to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty but exited the project shortly before Jonathan Majors’ firing from Marvel.
Currently, nothing else is known about the status of the fourth Spider-Man film.
