Daredevil’s Charlie Cox will seemingly star in at least one of the forthcoming MCU Avengers movies.
Cox played Matt Murdock in all three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil and in The Defenders. He then reprised the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and 2024’s Echo. He’ll be voicing the Man Without Fear in the animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show before the new Daredevil series, Daredevil: Born Again, premieres this coming March.
According to an Instagram post from DFRNT Health and Fitness, a gym and physical fitness center based in Australia, Cox will also be appearing in an ensemble Avengers movie.
“It’s been awesome having Charlie and his wife, Sam Cox, in DFRNT over the past few weeks!” the post, which can be viewed below, reads. “Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming @marvel Avengers movie where he will play @daredevil. It’s been our absolute pleasure working with you both and we can’t wait to watch you on the big screen!”
Will Daredevil’s Charlie Cox be in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars?
At this time, it’s not clear if Cox’s Daredevil will appear in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday, 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, or both, as neither film has begun production as of yet.
Both Doomsday and Secret Wars are being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously made 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame for Marvel Studios.
Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the MCU for the upcoming Avengers events; however, he will now be playing Doctor Doom rather than Tony Stark, who died in Avengers: Endgame. The main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps — Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach — will also appear, while it was also recently announced that Chris Evans will star in Doomsday in some capacity.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in United States theaters on May 1, 2026, from Marvel, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
