Hudson Meek, a young actor known for for his role in the action movie Baby Driver when he was younger, passed away at the age of 16, his family confirmed.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates (via AL.com), Meek was involved in an accident in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, on December 19. Authorities said the actor fell out of a moving vehicle and sustained blunt force injuries. Meek was taken to a local hospital but died “peacefully” on Saturday.
In an Instagram story confirming the news, Meek’s family confirmed his passing. “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” read the post. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
Meek played the role of Young Baby in the 2017 Edgar Wright action movie Baby Driver, a role that would help propel his career forward. The actor also appeared in the 2023 film Found, as well as the upcoming movie The School Duel. According to Meek’s obituary page, the actor also loved outdoor activities, including skiing and snowboarding, tubing, wakeboarding, and more.
“Hudson’s personality was one of a kind. He was confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous, and quick-witted,” reads a section of Meek’s obituary. “He never let the facts get in the way of a funny story, and he loved friendly banter. He was a prankster, loved a good joke, and was happiest when he was making others laugh. Hudson thrived in settings that allowed him to meet and serve new people. Hudson was a vibrant and dynamic person who lived life to the fullest.”
