Boiling Point director Philip Barantini has been tapped to helm Enola Holmes 3, the latest installment in Netflix‘s coming-of-age mystery film franchise. Further details about the plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, with lead star Millie Bobby Brown expected to reprise the titular detective.
Enola Holmes will serve as Barantini’s first major movie project, after gaining recognition for his work on 2021’s independent film Boiling Point, which he directed and co-wrote with James Cummings. The Stephen Graham-led kitchen drama film earned him two British Independent Film Award nominations, including Best Director and Best British Independent Film. He also directed two episodes of BBC One’s TV adaptation of Boiling Point. Barantini is also currently working with Netflix on the upcoming four-part series titled, Adolescence, which had just wrapped up its production.
Who is involved in Enola Holmes 3?
In addition to leading the cast, Brown is also producing Enola Holmes 3 alongside Bobby Brown through their PCMA Productions banner. The project will also be executive produced by Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards, with Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, and Alex Garcia set as producers for Legendary Entertainment.
At the moment, Brown is still in production for the final season of Stranger Things, where she’ll reprise fan-favorite role Eleven for the last time. Besides the third installment of Enola Holmes, she will also next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi adventure comedy The Electric State, which hails from Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
