The anticipation for Timothy Woodward Jr.’s Eyes in the Trees is on the rise, with actress Natalie Burn also joining the cast for the science-fiction thriller. The upcoming movie is a modern-day reimagining of The Island of Dr. Moreau, an 1896 novel by the visionary author H.G. Wells. Now, Burn is confirmed to be on board for Eyes in the Trees, which already includes two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins.
Natalie Burn to play military veteran in Eyes in the Trees alongside Anthony Hopkins
The Til Death Do Us Part star recently joined the project as Marcy, a seasoned military official.
Moreover, Natalie Burn will now share the screen with Anthony Hopkins, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ashley Greene, and other Hollywood A-listers for Eyes in the Trees. The update regarding Burn’s casting was first shared by Deadline. The report also highlighted the role that the Ukraine-born actress would be playing in the much-awaited adaptation of Wells’ work. She will be portraying a military veteran, who joins her former teammates for a perilous journey to a remote Thai island called Monkey Ko.
Dubbed ‘The Island of Death’ in the source material, Monkey Ko will serve as the base for the nefarious Dr. Addis, portrayed by Hopkins, who carries out unspeakable genetic experiments. In Eyes in the Trees, Burn’s character will accompany the crew led by Meyers’ Vince Henway and Greene’s Channing Arneau. Albeit, what starts as a harmless expedition driven by curiosity will turn into a game for survival, as explained by Variety.
Natalie Burn joins forces with Timothy Woodward Jr. on Eyes in the Trees for the second time after collaborating with the filmmaker on Til Death Do Us Part. Meanwhile, the trio of B. Harrison Smith, Mike Manning, and Dominic Burns serve as the primary writers for the film.
The movie is currently in its production phase, with the filming taking place in Thailand. However, the project does not have any official release date at the time of writing.
