Shakira’s Gazelle will return in Zootopia 2.
Zootopia 2 will be released in United States theaters in November 2025. A sequel to 2016’s Zootopia, the animated movie will once again see Ginnifer Goodwin voice Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman voice Nick Wilde.
Announced at D23 Brazil, Shakira will also return as Gazelle in Zooptia 2.
The official Disney Animation X account shared a video celebrating the announcement, which can be viewed below. “Gazelle is returning to Zootopia 2,” Shakira says in the video. “That’s right, Gazelle is back and she’s got a new look, a new song, and, of course, new dance moves. Just wait until you see what she and her tiger dancers have been working on. I know you’re going to love it.”
In addition to voicing the Gazelle character, Shakira contributed an original song — titled “Try Everything,” which was written by Sia and Stargate — to the 2016 Zootopia movie.
What else do we know about Zootopia 2?
“The sequel to the global phenomenon sees detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who turns the mammal metropolis upside down,” the synopsis for the movie reads.
In addition to Goodwin and Wilde, the voice cast of Zootopia 2 includes Ke Huy Quan as Gary, a snake who is being pursued by Nick and Judy; and Fortune Feimster as a beaver named Nibbles.
Zootopia 2 releases in United States theaters on November 26, 2025.
Zootopia, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Disney+.
“Walt Disney Animation Studios presents a heartwarming comedy-adventure set in the modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia,” the synopsis reads. With habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with fast-talking, scam-artist fox Nick Wilde to solve the mystery.”
