Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones is reportedly in early negotiations for the leading role in Disney‘s upcoming live-action Prince Charming movie. Prior to this casting news, it was also recently reported that Marvel vet Chris Hemsworth was in talks to play the titular role.
Should Edgar-Jones officially sign on to the project, this would mark her first major movie project, following the success of Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters movie, which received positive reviews from critics. At the moment, the Normal People actress will next be seen in the upcoming drama movie On Swift Horses with Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Sasha Calle, and Diego Calva. She’s also currently attached to star opposite Andrew Garfield in the romance drama Voyagers.
Who’s involved in the live-action Prince Charming movie?
Disney’s Prince Charming movie will be directed by Wonka and Paddington filmmaker Paul King from a screenplay he will co-write with Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker. Further details about the film’s plot are still being kept under wraps. It is also currently unclear if the titular character would be the same character from Cinderella since “Prince Charming” is the general name used for the love interests of various Disney princesses.
Hemsworth most recently starred in Mad Max prequel Furiosa and in the hit animated movie Transformers One. He is also reportedly in talks to lead Paramount’s long-awaited G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover movie. He will next be seen in the upcoming crime drama film Crime 101, where he’ll reunite with Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo.
