The release date for Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic, which is titled Michael, has been pushed back by several months.
Fuqua is currently working on a biopic about Michael Jackson, which will see Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, star in the title role. The movie also stars Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller as John Branca, and more.
When is the new release date for Michael?
Michael was originally intended to be released in United States theaters on April 18, 2025. Now, per Deadline, Lionsgate has moved the United States release date to October 3, 2025. Universal is handling the overseas release of the film.
Michael’s new release date means it will open in theaters on the same day as Derek Cianfrance’s Roofman, a crime drama movie that stars Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, Peter Dinklage, LaKeith Stanfield, and more.
The forthcoming Tron sequel, TRON: Ares, starring Jared Leto then arrives in theaters one week after that, October 10, 2025.
