A24 has shared the official Queer movie poster for its newest romance drama from Oscar-nominated director Luca Guadagnino, who recently directed the Zendaya-led tennis drama Challengers. This comes ahead of the film’s first trailer release next week.
The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on November 27, 2024. Since its world premiere at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival, it has received a Tomatometer rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Who is involved in the Queer movie?
Queer is directed and produced by Guadagnino from a screenplay written by Challengers scribe Justin Kuritzkes, based on William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novel of the same name. The film stars Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville, Henry Zaga, Drew Droege, Ariel Schulman, Colin Bates, Omar Apollo, Ronia Ava, and more.
“Set in 1940s Mexico City, it follows William Lee who has fled from a drug bust in New Orleans. In Mexico City, Lee wanders around the city’s clubs and becomes infatuated with drug user Eugune Allerton, a discharged American Navy serviceman,” reads the synopsis.
After Queer, Guadagnino is currently working on another star-studded project, a thriller movie titled After the Hunt. It will be led by Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garlfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloe Sevigny. Meanwhile, Craig will also next be seen in Netflix’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, where he’ll be reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc. As for Starkey, he recently reprised his role as Rafe Cameron in the latest season of Netflix’s Outer Banks series.
