Venom: The Last Dance Box Office Expected to Be Franchise’s Lowest

Tom Hardy’s upcoming film, Venom 3: The Last Dance might have a lower opening at the box office than Black Adam on its first day. Venom 3 is set to arrive in theaters this Friday, with Hardy in the titular role. The movie marks Hardy’s final appearance as the symbiote.

Venom: The Last Dance projected to start slow at domestic box office

According to a report by Variety, Venom 3: The Last Dance is expected to make a debut at the domestic box office with $65 million. This expected opening amount records just below the opening day collection of the 2022 Dwayne Johnson starrer Black Adam, which made approximately $67 million on its first day. Black Adam wasn’t a commercial success and also failed to impress critics.

On the other hand, Venom 3 is on track to become a hit, as it has been receiving positive first reactions. Additionally, the first two Venom movies also proved to be big box-office successes. Venom, which was released in 2018, clocked around $80 million as its opening collection and went on to earn $856 million globally, as per Box Office Mojo. This made it one of the biggest hits of that year. On the other hand, Venom: Let There Be Carnage reportedly made around $90 million on its opening day, and its worldwide collection amounted to around $506 million.

According to Deadline, even with a low opening, Venom 3, directed by Kelly Marcel, can clock in $150 million in its opening weekend, exceeding its budget of $120 million.
