Following her starring roles in Damien Leone’s Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, Lauren LaVera is in talks to star in the planned horror movie The Monster by the Saw franchise’s director Darren Lynn Bousman.
The Monster will revolve around two millennial scammers who sell apartments they don’t own in order to earn money. However, things take a different turn when they come across an apartment owner who carries a sinister secret.
Who else is in The Monster cast?
According to Bloody Disgusting, the Terrifier star has been eyed to star in The Monster. It was also previously announced that Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou will be starring in the horror thriller. He is known for his roles in Gladiator, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, Constantine, Blood Diamond, Guardians of the Galaxy, Furious 7, The Vatican Tapes, The Legend of Tarzan, Captain Marvel, Shazam!, Charlie’s Angels, Black Adam, Gran Turismo, A Quiet Place: Day One, and Rebel Moon (Part One: A Child of Fire, Part Two: The Scargiver).
Hounsou also lent his voice to Drago Bludvist in How to Train Your Dragon 2, King Ricou in Aquaman, and Sumo in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. LaVera, on the other hand, made a mark in the horror genre after she starred as Sienna Shaw in the two Terrifier installments. She also appeared in the Mike Flanagan-directed sci-fi drama The Life of Chuck.
“Two millennials make quick money by leasing incredible New York City apartments they don’t own to people who don’t know they are being scammed. The con works brilliantly until they run into an apartment owner with a dark secret who flips the game on them,” the plot description reads.
Lynn Bousman will be directing the flick based on a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer (Unsane).
Other details about The Monster remain under wraps.
