MCU Blade Movie Delayed Again as Predator: Badlands Takes Release Date

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Blade movie has been taken off Disney’s calendar. That means the MCU Blade movie will no longer come out on November 7, 2025. The news isn’t entirely shocking as the studio hasn’t announced a director for the film after Yann Demange left the project.

Instead, Disney will release its Predator: Badlands movie in its stead on November 7, 2025. Starring Elle Fanning, the movie will once again be directed by Prey director Dan Trachtenberg. Plot details remain under wraps, although it will be set in the future.

The MCU Blade movie has had a troubled production

Currently, Blade is being written by Eric Pearson (The Fantastic Four). Previous scripts were written by Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, and Michael Green. The project has undergone several changes to both cast and crew over the years.

Blade’s production had a turbulent period throughout the last two years, with previous director Bassim Tariq leaving the project in 2022. Originally set to release on November 3, 2023, the movie ended up being delayed to September 6, 2024, before being shifted to November 7, 2025. It is now undated, although it will still star Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth, who is rumored to be playing the role of Lilith.

Wesley Snipes previously starred as the titular Daywalker in the New Line Cinema Blade trilogy from the late ’90s to early 2000s and made an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. He was then played by Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones in the 2006 Spike TV series. Most recently, in 2022’s Marvel’s Midnight Suns video game, the character was voiced by Michael Jai White.
