What do we know about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and Drop?

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is the forthcoming sequel to 2023’s Five Nights at Freddy’s. Plot details remain under wraps at this time. Emma Tammi, who helmed the first movie, is returning to direct, while Jason Blum and Scott Cawhtorn (who created the video game that the film franchise is based on) return as producers.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel will be released in United States theaters on December 5, 2025.

Drop, meanwhile, is directed by Landon, who is known for making 2014’s Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, 2015’s Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, 2017’s Happy Death Day, 2019’s Happy Death Day 2U, 2020’s Freaky, and 2023’s We Have a Ghost.

While not much is known about the film’s plot, ComingSoon’s Jonathan Sim, who attended the NYCC event, noted that it “begins with a woman getting AirDropped scary memes in a restaurant before spiraling into a game of death” in an X post. A trailer was shown to those in attendance at the panel.

Drop stars Violett Beane, Meghan Fahy, Jacob Robinson, Ed Weeks, and Brandon Sklenar. Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script for the film, while Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller serve as producers and Sam Lerner serve as an executive producer.

Drop will be released in United States theaters on April 11, 2025.
