Renowned actor Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock, has stunned his Instagram fanbase after he teased an unknown project in development with J.J. Abrams. The Rock is currently in the headlines as his upcoming movie, Red One alongside actor Chris Evans will hit theaters across the US next month. Additionally, he is prepping up to reprise the role of demi-god Maui in Disney’s much-awaited sequel Moana 2, which will be out on November 24, 2024.
The Rock reveals new J.J. Abrams movie project on Instagram
The Rock recently took to his social media to make a terrific announcement teasing a big collaboration.
The actor posted an Instagram photo with J.J. Abrams, the director of the 2015 movie, The Force Awakens. The photo also featured screenwriter Zak Penn, who has contributed his expertise in Marvel projects like The Avengers and The Incredible Hulk, and Hiram Garcia, who is the producer of most movies featuring The Rock, like Jungle Cruise and Red Notice.

Additionally, the actor didn’t provide any details about the project and kept the mystery element alive for fans to keep guessing. In the caption, he asserted that Zak Penn is the brains behind the possible script of the upcoming project.
The Rock wrote in the caption, “Years in the making – we finally broke bread, we drank, we laughed, got a lil’ drunk (maybe that was just me) we talked life stuff, love stuff, dude stuff and took our time chopping up our passion for movies and storytelling. Then we all raised a glass and toasted to….yup, this one is gonna be fun.” He also penned a mysterious logline, which states, “…tonight, it comes to life…”
With this project, J.J. Abrams might be entering the arena of direction again after the 2019 movie, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
