Andrew Garfield & Florence Pugh’s We Live in Time Sex Scene Went Longer Than Planned

The John Crowley-helmed We Live in Time is gradually approaching its release date and fans couldn’t be more excited. The romantic drama movie has already garnered much attention, due to the satisfying chemistry shared between its two lead actors. In a recent discussion, Andrew Garfield, who portrays Tobias in We Live in Time, disclosed an interesting tidbit about the movie that entails a sex scene alongside Florence Pugh.

Andrew Garfield says he and Florence Pugh didn’t ‘hear cut’ while filming sex scene

As per The Amazing Spider-Man star, the two actors filmed an intimate scene for much longer than they should have. The bizarre incident reportedly occurred after both Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh failed to hear the director say cut.

During his recent appearance at 92NY, Garfield revealed the aforementioned experience of unintentionally filming an extended sex scene with Pugh for We Live in Time. While talking to Josh Horowitz, the actor expanded upon what went down at the set. “The scene becomes passionate, as we choreographed it. And we get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to just because we don’t hear ‘cut’ and it’s feeling safe,” he said.

The 41-year-old thespian then stated that he soon became cognizant of what was going on. “At a certain point, both of us, I feel like, we were both telepathically saying to each other, this definitely feels like a longer take.”

Andrew Garfield also disclosed how the cinematographer did nothing to cut his everlasting sex scene with Florence Pugh short. Instead, he simply turned his equipment the other way and waited patiently for the actors to stop. “Stuart [Bentley] has the camera by his side, and he’s turned into the wall,” Garfield added.

Despite the unusual incident, the Hacksaw Ridge actor had nothing but appreciation for his co-star. While speaking to Horowitz, Garfield further applauded Pugh’s professionalism. Moreover, he stated that she is “very confident in her body and her sexuality.”

We Live in Time is currently scheduled to hit the theatres on October 11, 2024.
