James Gunn has shared the first look at Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen in 2025’s Superman.
Superman, which is written and directed by Gunn, will be released in United States theaters in July 2025. The DCU film stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.
On Threads, Gunn shared a post revealing the first-look image of Jimmy Olsen in the upcoming superhero movie.
Gunn wrote, “Happy Anniversary to Superman’s pal, Jimmy Olsen, who debuted on this day in 1941 (although he did appear earlier as “office boy” in Action Comics 6). Created by Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, and Bob Maxwell. I can’t wait for you to see @skylergisondo’s portrayal in Superman on July 11, 2025.”

Prior to Superman, Gisondo starred in 2007’s Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, 2015’s Vacation, 2019’s Booksmart, 2020’s The Binge, and 2021’s Licorice Pizza. He also voiced B-Dawg in a number of the Air Buddies movies and played Howard Stacy in Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man franchise. In television, Gisondo has had main roles on Santa Clarita Diet, The Righteous Gemstones, Fairfax, The Resort, and more.
